Akshay Kumar Reveals Why He REJECTED Vishnu Machu’s Kannappa Twice: “Suddenly Phone Aaya Toh Mujhe…”

Akshay Kumar is no doubt the best actor in Bollywood. He is soon to make his Telugu debut in Kannappa playing the role of Lord Shiva after OMG 2. During the Kannappa teaser launch in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar clarifies why he rejected the film twice and what happened.

Akshay Kumar rejected Kannappa TWICE

During the Kannappa teaser launch, Vishnu Manchi said, “With Akshay Kumar, we don’t have a personal relationship. But now I am grateful to have met him and worked with him. And I have a lot to learn from him.” He added, “When I thought of Lord Shiva, I could not think of anyone but him.”

In an intense tone, Vishnu humorously said, “It wasn’t easy getting him on board. He rejected it twice. But ultimately, it was all Lord Shiva’s insistence to make him join.” Concluding he said, “I hope in this generation if anyone has to remember Lord Shiva, I hope and I am confident that it will be Akshay Kuamr’s visual that will come for them. I am confident with this devotion we have made the film as well.”

Akshay Kumar Clarifies Why He Rejected Kannappa Twice

Akshay Kumar clarifies, “Jaise inhone kaha ki Maine do baar film reject kardiya tha iss baare main vartalaab karte hai. Main batata hoon ki kiu mana kiya tha. Pehele toh, mujhe pata nahi tha, main Vishnu ji ko nahi janta tha. Inke father ko janta tha, janta hoon. Toh suddenly phone aaya toh mujhe pata nahi chala, actually mujhe phone nahi kiya tha, kisi aur ko kiya tha. Aur who bhi kisi aur ke through see aaya tha, Sudha madam ke through aaya tha. So pata nahi chala tha. Aise bahut saare calls aate hai, kisiko pata nahi chalta koun kaha se call kiya hoga. Because there are a lot of times when we, actors or managers receive hoax calls. Its a wrong call, they fool them.”

Adding further, he said, “Toh isiliye pata nahi chala. I didn’t understand it then. Later when I came to know everything, I got into it. Then I met him (Vishnu Manchu). the first time we met was at my office, he sounded extremely genuine. Even now, the way he talks is genuine. The way he mentions that I talk in Hyderabadi Hindi. He is completely a genuine man, actor and producer. I didn’t ask him the script after this nature of his and we just went with the flow.”
